Our internationally trained moving specialists work closely with you to create a relocation plan tailored to your needs. We’ll help you with all aspects of your move, including international pet transport, transit insurance, home search services and any storage options that you may need in addition to moving your belongings to the United States.
Here’s how it works:
Grace starts the moving process with an in-home consultation to discuss your needs and tailor a solution to your international move.
On your moving day our experienced team of friendly movers will carefully pack your belongings, using high quality materials and proven methods to meet international shipping standards. We will also prepare your large furniture items, including disassembly, wrapping and itemisation to best ensure your items arrive in the condition they left in.
Your items will be packed into a shipping container and taken to our warehouse for weighing, security sealing and reporting. A detailed Customs packing list is prepared at this time, allowing the container to be taken to the port and onto the ship for its trip.
Your Moving Consultant will ensure all necessary documentation is completed to assist in a painless customs process. We will provide access to tracking systems for your shipping container and/or airline consignment, so you know where your belongings are at all times.
Grace will coordinate the clearance of your shipment through customs, collect the container from the destination port and have it delivered to your new home. Our team will unpack your cartons, reassemble your furniture and place the big items where you want them. We’ll take any packing items and rubbish away with us, leaving you to enjoy your new home in peace.
United States of America
Known as the land of opportunity, the USA is one of the most culturally and environmentally diverse countries on earth. From Alaska in the North to Hawaii in the Pacific, America has a strong multi-cultural scene with large communities representing Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Despite the cult following of Flight of the Conchords in the US, the number of New Zealanders living in the States remains relatively low. Of those that do make the move, most choose to settle in the education and tech heavy regions of the northern California bay area, fly out to the bright lights of New York or ship off to Boston.
Visa and immigration
New Zealanders can lawfully visit the USA for up to 90 days on a non-immigrant visa through the Visa Waiver Program (ESTA). To apply for an immigrant visa, you must be a foreign citizen sponsored by a US citizen or by a prospective US employer. Grace can only ship your belongings to the USA if you have a valid US immigrant visa or US passport; or are a lawful resident of the US. Visit the US Consulate in Auckland to process your immigration visa.
